Kriss charges DA still leans on aides for campaign cash

A former prosecutor running for Brooklyn district attorney blasted incumbent Charles (Joe) Hynes yesterday for accepting donations from his staff for months after Hynes supposedly ended the practice.
"The conduct of taking money from assistant district attorneys is reprehensible," said Arnold Kriss, who formally kicked off his campaign yesterday. "No other DA in the city does it."
While Hynes spokesman Jerry Schmetterer said the practice - which isn't illegal - ended in the 2001 election, records obtained by the Daily News show that Hynes accepted donations from staffers as late as August 2002.
