Clarence Norman Jr., the former Brooklyn Democratic chief and state assemblyman, was found guilty of larceny yesterday for putting a $5,000 check made out to his Assembly campaign into a personal account. It was his second consecutive conviction on corruption charges.
Mr. Norman, 54, once one of the most powerful black politicians in the state, faces up to seven years in prison for the larceny conviction, besides the eight-year maximum he faces for an earlier conviction for soliciting illegal campaign contributions from a lobbyist.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 10 on both convictions, and he still faces two more felony corruption trials after that.
