Train
NJ Transit commuter rail offers service to Asbury Park from New York's Penn Station, and from Hoboken and Newark's Penn Station in New Jersey. Even though parking is easy in Asbury Park, I prefer NJ Transit's comfortable and convenient mass transit option.
From The Garden State Parkway South
- Using Garden State Parkway Exit 100A
- Proceed East on Route 33
- Stay on Route 33 until you go over the Railroad tracks, then turn left.
- At the third traffic light make a right onto Cookman Avenue.
- Continue on Cookman Avenue until you reach Ocean Avenue
- Using Garden State Parkway Exit 102

Make a right onto Asbury Avenue
- Proceed on Asbury Avenue to Rt. 66
- Proceed on Rt. 66 to a traffic circle,
- Following signs for Asbury Park
- Take Asbury Avenue to Ocean Avenue
From The Garden State Parkway North
- Take Garden State Parkway Exit 100B
- Proceed East on Route 33
- Stay on Route 33 until you go over the Railroad tracks
- Route 33 ends, turn left.
- At the third traffic light make a right onto Cookman Avenue.
- Continue on Cookman Avenue until you reach Ocean Avenue
From Route 18
- Take Route 18, to the Asbury Park / Route 66 East exit
(Traveling north, make a right onto Route 66
traveling South, make a left)
- Proceed on Route 66 for just under 1 mile to the circle
- Follow the signs for Asbury Park
- Stay on Asbury Avenue to Ocean Avenue
Travel time from Newark is around one hour.
