This is a list of videogames that support the PS/1 audio card, including notes on how to configure them and their level (or lack) of support.

The PS/1 Audio/Joystik Card

The PS/1 Audio Card includes a Programmable Sound Generator (PSG) with 3 square wave channels and 1 channel for noise, and an 8-bit mono Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). It also has a 2.5mm microphone jack, a joystick port, and a 6-pin mini-DIN MIDI connector.

The PSG is identical to the Texas Instruments SN76496 used in the IBM PCjr, but with a different input clock rate. For an in-depth comparison of the different incarnations of this chip and how it was used in various machines, see the Nerdy Pleasure blog.

The card is attached to the system via a 34-pin ribbon cable, and was specifically manufactured for the PS/1 types 2011 and 2121.

Considering the very small market presence of the IBM PS/1 and its audio card at the time, the system had a fair amount of support.

Sierra On-Line was particularly prolific, giving proper support for 3-voice PSG music and, for most of the games, DAC sound effects and/or speech. Disney’s games had some support for the PS/1 audio card as well, but that was generally limited to sound samples (for both music and effects), with no PSG music (they probably deemed the sound generator of too low quality to even bother).
